The Cardboard furniture, “Julia has spent several years exploring the myriad of possibilities offered by cardboard.”. Via trucdesign.com.

last week west elm celebrated the opening of its newest manhattan shop by hosting a fantastic silent auction of one-of-a-kind furniture and objects created by david stark using recycled west elm packing materials. all of the proceeds went to the cooper hewitt and at the end of the night, david’s work was able to raise $8,000 for the museum!
i’m always amazed by david’s incredible designs, but i was especially excited to see him design pieces using something there’s always an abundance off- packing materials. i’m partial to the gorgeous cardboard cacti, but there is also a giant lamp, tiny clocks, vases, a chair and much more. click here for more information on david’s work, here for david’s diy video on d*s and here for a tour of david’s colorful and beautiful brooklyn home. thanks, casey!
